Chalobah Expected to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions National Team
The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first pair of brothers to play for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to be added to the Three Lions selection to replace injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to meet up with the squad for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has yet to be officially announced.
The Three Lions have already qualified for the upcoming tournament.
Chalobah earned his maiden call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the team for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally didn't call him up for the following October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an important presence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in all but four fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are set to be additional call-ups to the squad. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the national team.
