Experts Detect Kremlin Fear Operation Targeting Tomahawk Employment

The Kremlin is executing a psychological influence initiative of intimidations to deter the America from supplying precision-guided weapons to Ukraine, according to military analysts. An influential official remarked: “We understand these missiles thoroughly, their operational characteristics, methods to intercept them, we worked on them in Middle East operations, so there is nothing new. The providers and the operators will encounter difficulties … We will develop strategies to hurt those who cause us trouble.”

Ukrainian Defensive Operations Developments

Ukrainian forces were causing significant casualties in a military operation in eastern Donetsk region, the central battlefield, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on midweek. Zelenskyy's assessment, following a report by his top commander, contrasted with the Russian president's address to senior Russian officers a prior day in which he claimed Moscow's forces held the strategic initiative in throughout the battle lines.

Based on evaluation from early October, defense researchers said Russia was experiencing substantial casualties, especially due to unmanned aerial vehicle assaults, in return for minor territorial gains. Ukrainian forces, the president stated, were “maintaining our defense along all other directions”, referring specifically to Kupiansk, a largely destroyed town in north-eastern Ukraine under intense attacks for an extended period.

Regional Situations

The regional governor in the Kherson area of southern Kherson said military strikes on midweek killed three people in and around the city of the same name. Local authorities of Sumy region, on the northern border with neighboring Russia, said three fatalities occurred in Russian drone attacks in various areas. Ukrainian aerial defense said it neutralized or disrupted 154 out of 183 offensive unmanned aircraft overnight into Wednesday.

A Russian attack seriously damaged one of Ukraine's thermal power plants, officials reported on midweek. Facility personnel were wounded in the assault, as reported by energy company officials. They provided no further information, regarding the plant's location, but national sources said attacks targeted energy infrastructure in northern Ukraine, the Kherson area and south-eastern Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Civilian Effects

In the border community of northeastern Ukraine, hit hard by the offensive operations against the energy infrastructure, officials have established temporary shelters where civilians are able to warm up, access hot drinks, maintain communication capability and obtain emotional assistance, as reported by regional head.

Global Reactions

The Ukrainian diplomat to Nato on midweek encouraged NATO members to step up purchases of United States armaments for Ukrainian forces. “This doesn't mean we prefer American weapons over French or German or some other European weapons – the challenge remains that we are asking the America for equipment that EU members are unable to supply,” said the diplomatic representative.

Federal law enforcement will shortly receive authorization to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles, interior minister said on midweek, after a spate of UAV observations suspected as Russian efforts to conduct surveillance and threaten. Announcing legal changes, the official said law enforcement would receive permission “to employ state-of-the-art technical action against unmanned aircraft dangers, including electromagnetic pulses, electronic interference, GPS interference, but also with physical means”.

European Defense Concerns

European Commission President said on midweek that EU nations need to ramp up its protective capabilities to deter Moscow's multifaceted attacks following aerial violations, digital assaults and damage to undersea cables. “This is not isolated incidents. This represents a systematic and intensifying operation,” the leader said in a speech to the European parliament. “A couple of events are coincidence, but several, many, frequent – this constitutes a intentional and focused ambiguous warfare operation against EU nations, and the EU needs to react.”

Humanitarian Conditions

The Swiss government has extended its protection status offered to people fleeing Ukraine to at least March 2027. Humanitarian status, which allows people to leave the country as well as work in Switzerland, is generally limited to one year but can be continued. “This determination demonstrates the ongoing dangerous conditions and continuing offensive operations across significant Ukrainian territory,” said a federal announcement. “Regardless of global diplomatic initiatives, a permanent peace that would allow for protected homecoming is not anticipated in the foreseeable future.”
