Palestinian-American Youth Liberated After Nine Months in Israeli Imprisonment

A Palestinian-American adolescent after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

Through an official statement, family spokesperson conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

US officials stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount than the safety and security of American nationals"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action to release him.

Mohammed's parent, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.

The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

Additionally housing mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and murder.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.

Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by radical settlers during a confrontation in July.

During that period, defense forces stated officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
